Matt and Julie began volunteering for Matthew 25 Outreach Center nearly five years ago…

And they have no intention of stopping.

They love impacting their community in both temporal and eternal ways.

After going on a mission trip, Julie was haunted by the people in need she encountered. She wanted to do something to help, but living hundreds of miles away made it difficult.

However, Matt and Julie quickly learned they didn’t have to go overseas to be the hands and feet of Jesus.

M25OC showed them they could impact people in need in their own backyard in simple, easy ways.

Every month, Matt and Julie come to the distribution site, unload boxes, sort food, and load home delivery cars. While it is very tempting to sleep in on Saturday mornings, they make it a priority to come and serve the Lord.

Their passion for helping others extends to their grandson, Clayton. For the first couple of years, he built forts out of discarded cardboard boxes. Now, he helps pack food to distribute to the on-site guests.

Matt and Julie are thankful for the volunteers (and guests) at M25OC who show Clayton what it means to be a Christian. They know the experiences he has today will affect him for years to come.

Next time you see Matt, Julie, and Clayton, be sure to give them a big “thank you” for all they do!
