In response to the COVID-19 pandemic, we are making some changes in our food distributions to ensure the safety of all Matthew 25 Outreach Center guests and volunteers.

As always, it is our goal to provide food to anyone in need, as well as share God’s love and peace with all we encounter. So that won’t be changing.

Here’s what will be changing. Beginning Monday, March 23, 2020, all food distributions conducted by Matthew 25 Outreach Center will be handled as follows:

Social distancing

  • We are taking “social distancing” very seriously.

  • We are requiring all guests and volunteers to maintain a safe distance from each other (at least 10 feet).

CSFP (food boxes for seniors)

  • CSFP food box distributions will take place on normally scheduled distribution dates.

  • Food will be left outside the door of each guest. Be sure to put your box of cheese in the refrigerator!

  • Volunteers will knock on your door (loudly) to let you know that we have arrived and are leaving your food box.

Produce distributions

  • Food distributions in Ashland and Richland Counties will be conducted as drive-through events only.

  • All guests are asked to remain in their vehicles.

  • Please be sure to open the trunk / tailgate of your vehicle.

  • Please follow the instructions of our volunteers, including where cars are to line up.

  • Our volunteers will use computers / tablets to check-in each guest from a safe distance.

  • Initials / signatures are no longer required for check-in.

  • All food items will be spaced a safe distance from each other, with a volunteer at each station.

  • We will have a limited selection of produce (4 items only).

  • In addition, we will be providing a 35-lb. box of shelf-stable food items (along with produce). This box of food will last longer than fresh produce.

Home delivery

  • Home deliveries will be conducted in Ashland, Richland, and Wayne Counties.

  • Food will be left outside the door of each guest.

  • Volunteers will knock on your door (loudly) to let you know that we have arrived and are leaving your food.

  • Our volunteers will pre-check in each guest (from a safe distance).

  • Initials / signatures are no longer required for check-in.
